For Septic System Maintenance in Westerly, RI Call401-919-0980

  • My sewage line was cleared in a timely and trustworthy manner by Sewer-Man! Tracy

A few commonly asked questions concerning septic systems are included here, along with the answers to those questions.

  • What is the location of my septic tank? Unusually for this type of tank, it is buried below, near to your home. How long do you think my septic tank will last? Assuming you have a concrete septic tank that is constructed of high-quality concrete and your ground water is not acidic, you may expect it to endure for 40 years or longer on average. Steel septic tanks are susceptible to corrosion and are frequently corroded after 15-20 years of use. If you have a preventative maintenance and inspection schedule in place for your system, you will be able to spot this situation with relative ease. What should and should not be put into my septic system is a common question. In order to keep your system in proper functioning order, only human wastewater should be allowed to enter the system. This includes waste water from the kitchen and bathroom sinks, shower and bathtub sinks, and laundry water. Using a reasonable amount of laundry and bath soap, biodegradable detergents and home chemicals, and food scraps from a waste disposer, it is possible to complete the task. Sanitary napkins, cigarette filters, plastic and other non-biodegradable materials, as well as harmful chemicals and substances, should not be flushed down the toilet. These have the potential to clog your system and/or destroy the bacteria in your system that digest or eat waste from humans. Is it possible for additives to be successful in my septic system? If your septic system is in excellent operating order, you won’t need any additional chemicals. While the bacteria and enzymes found in additives may not be effective in all situations, they may be effective if your system is overloaded due to extraordinary usage, such as having more guests in your home than usual or hosting numerous large parties in your home over the holidays. When is the best time to get my septic tank pumped out? As part of our preventative maintenance program, SewerMan will develop a plan for how frequently your system needs to be pumped depending on the size of your tank, the size of your home, and how many people live in your home. How often should I clean my drain field if I observe evidence of ponding or flooding in my drain field? If you don’t have a drain field, the typical guideline is every 3 to 5 years. When you discover indicators of drain field flooding, the most practical thing to do is to contact SewerMan immediately. In the meanwhile, avoid or limit your use of the system at all costs. If your drain field is flooded, it is an indication of a system failure, and the wastewater that enters it is not being adequately treated, which might lead to health risks.

Tub and Shower drains Clogs

In the shower and tub, hair adheres to the residue left by soap and other culprits, causing them to clog over time. We shall dispatch a sewage and drain repair professional to clear any buildup in the drainpipe as well as any obstructions that may have formed. Standing water or a sluggish drainage system are the most prevalent indicators of a problem requiring repair. Not attending to the clogs will only exacerbate the situation, which might ultimately result in the necessity for a total sewer or drain replacement system.

Toilet Drains clog up often

The hair that adheres to soap residue and other contaminants causes shower and tub drains to clog over time. We shall dispatch a sewage and drain repair professional to clear any buildup in the drainpipe as well as any obstructions that may have formed in the system. Standby water or very sluggish drainage are the most prevalent indicators of an issue that requires repair. Clogs that are not cleared may worsen and may eventually need the replacement of the whole sewer or drain system.

Bathroom Sink Drains

Sink in the bathroom Among the most prevalent issues we see in the sewage cleaning business are obstructions in the drainage system. Sinks frequently become overloaded with items such as hair, toothpaste, soap, shaving cream, face cleansers, and other products that cause filth to accumulate as a result of their function.

Our highly experienced technicians know how to unclog a sink quickly and easily, allowing you to get back to the routine of running your home or company as normal as possible.

The Main Sewer Line could be clogged.

If numerous drains are clogged at the same time, your main sewage line may be the source of the problem. The main sewage line is the point at which all of the drains in the home connect. It is necessary to have a main sewage line running underground from the house to a city sewer line or to a septic tank. It is possible for your main sewage line to get blocked if residue from the usage of regular home goods drains into it. Some sewage problems are merely the consequence of tree roots infiltrating pipes, and if left unattended, they might result in the need for sewer and drain repair.

If there is any indication that there is a problem with the main sewer line, our expert can execute the necessary repairs.

Floor drains and outside drains

Check out our Preventive Maintenance Program to see how we can help you maintain these lines free of debris. Clogs can be removed and drainage may be restored in a short period of time by our sewage and drain repair professionals.

Down Spouts and Exterior drainage systems

Downspout drains are used to divert water away from your property from the roof gutters. As the gutters become clogged with leaves and debris, the downspout drains become clogged as well, resulting in a backlog. Dennis DiffleySons Inc.sewer and drain repair technicians can clean your downspouts and any external system connectingpipes in order to restore appropriate drainage around your house. Taking action now will help you prevent difficulties that could lead to more major basement water seepage and mold-related concerns in the future, which would necessitate more comprehensive services in the future to repair the situation.
